Job proposal: Junior R&D Engineer in Optics « Instrumentation for image-guided neurosurgery »

Context

This offer is available at the CREATIS medical imaging laboratory, University of Lyon, campus de la Doua, Lyon. This work is in collaboration with a neurosurgeon from « Hôpitaux Civils de Lyon ».

Description

We aim to develop a fast compressive camera for fluorescence-guided neurosurgery. Fluorescence-guided surgery is an imaging technique that helps surgeons to perform safer and less invasive surgery. While quantitative fluorescence imaging requires to exploit the full spectrum, there are no traditional hyperspectral cameras with sufficient spectral resolution. The Project consists in improving a prototype available in our laboratory and connecting it to the surgical microscope used in the operation room. It includes designing optomechanical parts, controlling the instrumentation in Labview or Python, per-forming campaigns of measurements in our lab and at the hospital, reporting results and participating to research meetings.
