ESoA Course: Microwave Imaging and Diagnostics – Theory, Techniques, and Applications

In the framework of the European School of Antennas, we are pleased to inform you that the course “Microwave Imaging and Diagnostics: Theory, Techniques, and Applications” will be jointly organized by the ELEDIA Research Center of the University of Trento and the LEMMALab of the University Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria.

in the week 19-23 March 2018

The course, after reviewing fundamental equations and main difficulties of inverse problems in high-frequency electromagnetics, will focus on classical and recently introduced solution procedures and algorithms, discussing capabilities, limitations, and perspectives of both approximate and « exact » reconstruction methods. Applicative examples, including exercises and lessons regarding specific applications, will corroborate the developed concepts.

Summer School « Metagenierie », 2-7 July 2017, La Vieille Perrotine, Ile d’Oleron

The Summer School « Metagenierie: Principles and engineering applications of acoustic metamaterials » will take place from 2nd to 7th July 2017 in La Vieille Perrotine, Ile d’Oleron, CAES village of CNRS.

The main objective of this thematic school is to provide comprehensive training for PhD students, post-docs, industrialists and engineers on the topic of metamaterials. There is therefore a real opportunity to offer joint training with the objective of facilitating communication between the industrial and the academic world. The training will be carried out jointly by researchers from French and foreign laboratories, and by industrialists, allowing to exchange and compare points of view.
Training on acoustic metamaterials will be offered in areas of recognized applications (underwater acoustics, telecom components, audible acoustics), but particular attention will be paid to emerging themes such as metamaterials for acoustic, mechanical and seismic waves. (suite…)
