PHD position: Frequency and radiation pattern reconfigurable antennas and metasurfaces based on Phase Change materials (PCM) integration

Context

The research activities of this thesis subject will be develop in the framework of a collaboration between two teams of the XLIM laboratory, namely the MINT team (Micro- and Nano structures for Telecom) and the Antennas & Signals team.

Description

In the frame of a CNES co-financed PhD thesis, we are proposing the demonstration of reconfigurable antennas and (meta) surfaces operating in the millimeter wave band (or at frequencies above 30 GHz), using optical or electrical control of the properties of phase change materials (PCMs) in order to make these systems agile in frequency or to modify their radiation pattern.
