Post-doctoral offer: Wave propagation in complex media

Context

The Center for Applied Mathematics (Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées – UMR CNRS 7641, École Polytechnique, INRIA) has set itself the objective of developing and exploring mathematics in relation to applications. Its research fields are closely linked to problems in physics, mechanics, chemistry, biology and health, finance, but also in the socio-economic and information technology fields.

Description

There are several questions to address, related to imaging and communication with noise or opportunistic sources. Some questions are theoretical and other ones are numerical, so the profile is quite open. The general topic of this postdoc position, available at the Ecole Polytechnique, is related to wave propagation in complex media.

The project (that also involves physicists) is funded by ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche) and deals with wave propagation in waveguide geometries, with motivations in underwater acoustics, fiber optics, and seismic imaging.
